Description:
- larvae - 10mm long, black head & legs, white body with black spots, middle of abdomen is swollen
- beetle - small, brown or yellowish, or metallic green or blue
What it Attacks:
- willow trees & sometimes poplar
Damage:
- larvae skeletonize lower leaf surface
- later eat whole leaf minus main vein
- cicular holes in leaf
- leaves may turn brown & die
Prevention/Control:
- rake up & destroy leaf litter in the fall
- safers soap
